Additional Training of Young Engineers in Shipping Company to Increase Professional Competences to Take on Duties in Engine Room

The article discusses general conventions, goals and effects of the "BS Cadet Program" training program, introduced by one of the largest German shipowners to improve the competences of crew members at the operational level, who will take up duties of the watch engineer in the ship engine room soon. The work also presents the results comparison of verification of knowledge acquired by participants during the training with the results gained by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering students being after their last semester of studies.References
