A new concept of the marine thrusters are presented. The history of the product is shown at the beginning. The construction of the thruster and the exploitation characteristics are described later. The commercial products offered by a few firm are presented in the final part of the paper with the short description of the first ship with the rim-driven thruster as a main propulsion system.References
