This paper presents the results of experimental research carried out at the Laboratory of Marine Power Engineering in Gdynia Maritime University. The studies included the measurement of voltages on the main switchboard busbars and loads currents during the work of linear and nonlinear receivers for one and two generators working in parallel with MEDCOM active filter FA3-10k series. In the paper the wave forms of voltages and currents, for above mentioned switchboard configurations, are presented, along with the power quality parameters. The main purpose of the paper is to investigate the possibility of working parallel active filter with the laboratory model of marine power system as well as practical use of the model to conduct didactic activities. As the result of the research, the effectiveness of the active filter in higher harmonic compensation during operation of the nonlinear load in the above-mentioned marine power network was confirmed.References
